Nikori Wakamatsu’28

Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Nikori Wakamatsu is pursuing a double major in Law, Society & Policy and International Relations at Syracuse University. She is a distinguished recipient of the CFSA–SOURCE Emerging Research Fellows Program and the International Relations Research Program, where she is spearheading cutting-edge research on war in virtual societies designed to minimize armed casualties to the greatest extent possible. 

On campus, she serves as Vice President of the Japanese Students Association, supports 36 residents as a Residential Advisor—fostering an inclusive and supportive community—and mentors international freshmen as a Peer Mentor, guiding them through cultural transitions and student life at Syracuse University. 

Her scholarly passion is space law, with a visionary goal: to develop legal frameworks that will enable peaceful and equitable outer-space societies.
