What was your focus at Syracuse University, and what are you doing now?

I earned my Master of Social Science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, where I explored modern German political systems, Latin American economics and history, and West African societies through sociology. The interdisciplinary approach at Maxwell provided me with a global perspective and analytical skills that I continue to draw upon daily.

Today, I serve as Principal of Horizon Private School – American Branch in Abu Dhabi, part of the Alephya Education group. In this role, I lead a dynamic school community committed to rigorous academics, student agency, and inquiry-based learning, all within the framework of an American educational experience for an international audience. Horizon is aligned with ADEK standards and Cognia accreditation expectations, ensuring both local and global excellence in practice. Previously, I helped design and open schools at NEOM in Saudi Arabia, where I worked closely with the Ministry of Education to license schools and integrate international standards. Across these roles, my focus has remained on implementing innovative educational practices that support diverse learners, reflecting the linguistic and cultural diversity of our student communities. My work directly reflects the critical thinking, leadership, and strategic planning skills cultivated at Maxwell.

What is your favorite SU memory?

One of my fondest memories is the incredible camaraderie within our London cohort. We had a fantastic relationship with our professors and each other, striking the perfect balance between rigorous academic discussions and moments of shared laughter. Another standout memory was our trip to the Adirondacks, where a tornado unexpectedly disrupted our plans. The experience of working together as a team to navigate blocked roads and return safely to Syracuse was a powerful reminder of the resilience, problem-solving, and teamwork that Maxwell instilled in us.

Why is it important to give back to Syracuse University?

Each of us has gained so much from our Syracuse experience—whether through the faculty’s mentorship, the Maxwell network’s strength, or the university’s life-changing opportunities. Giving back ensures that future generations of students continue to benefit from the same high-quality education and transformative experiences. I believe in supporting Maxwell’s mission and Syracuse University’s broader commitment to global engagement, innovation, and leadership. Donor giving supports scholarships, new programs, and enhanced opportunities that allow Syracuse to attract and support talented individuals from around the globe.

What does being a member of The Hill Society International (leadership giving) mean to you?

I am honored to take on a leadership role in supporting The Hill Society’s mission of fostering international engagement and philanthropy. Being part of this initiative allows me to help grow Syracuse’s global presence and strengthen connections with alumni and partners in key regions. Maxwell deepened my understanding of the world and reinforced the importance of building bridges across cultures, a perspective that has been central to my leadership in international schools. I see my contributions as an investment in Maxwell’s future—ensuring it remains a hub for public affairs, policy, social science, and leadership education. Through The Hill Society, I hope to connect more alumni and supporters to Syracuse’s long-term vision and strengthen its global impact.
